>>196047White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - ✈️ VP pool note #10 - Vance speaking / Guilfoyle quote from gaggle
VP Vance took the podium at 2.30pm, walking down the steps from Air Force Two about 100 yards to the podium to big cheers.
“That’s not a bad entrance is it?” Vance said. He added that he’d been all over the world and the US “but man it’s good to be home.”
The rally is in an airport hangar with Air Force Two in the background and two twin-prop planes inside. There are a few hundred people, many with red MAGA caps.
VP Vance is speaking on a podium with placards saying ‘DEFEND OUR FUTURE’ and ‘Vote on November 3’, with ‘Lima, Ohio’ on small letters. On the left is a large US flag, on the right is a large Ohio flag.
Tiers with a few dozen people are on each side, each has a big ‘Defend our future’ sign and there’s an even bigger one on the left hand wall.
Sen. Bernie Moreno had warmed up the crowd for Vance. “This is MAGA territory,” Moreno said.
Moreno said of Sherrod Brown: “So he's back. It's like a bad Star Wars episode. You got the villain in one movie, and he's back in the next one. So you're gonna defeat him again this year?” The crowd chanted “Yes!”
NOTE: At the gaggle in Cincinnati, VP was asked about the WSJ story on Kimberly Guilfoyle, going a bit further than his comment on Thursday. Sorry for the delay. Again pls check against recordings etc
“Look, these are allegations, and what I always say is, we don't try people in the court of public opinion; we try people in a court of law. I've seen that Eric Deters has accused Kimberly Guilfoyle, who I know and have known for a long time. Look, these are accusations. You don't take messages that people allegedly had between one person or another, or one person's story, and say, "Oh, because of that, Kimberly Guilfoyle is is guilty.” I think that's absurd. Let's actually see what the facts are. Let's see what the truth is. And obviously, if there was something bad that happened, then people have to suffer consequences.”
