Someone in the comments of that short said that being "stuck in a freeze response" like that may be caused by CPTSD so I looked it up (again, I have plenty of free time) and when I read this part I was reminded of my mom's abuse during her alcoholism phase, around the time I was 12-15. That experience meets all of the criteria. There are so many newfangled terms for all this stuff that it's kind of overwhelming.
