what's confusing about that? I always thought I was breathing through my mouth at least partially but I never bothered trying to block my nostrils to test it and now that I did it turns out I was breathing only through my nose. come to think of it it should've been obvious because whenever I catch a cold and my nose gets blocked I have to open my mouth in a very deliberate way in order to breathe through it
