He is subtly commenting on The Disclosure and the disclosure stuff happening. Ridley Scott being a major player in this despite the movie being Spilberg's, as I mentioned many times before.
His point is that entertainment IS philosophy and religion, and those things have evidently shaped the course of humanity and reality itself. Our idiotic scienticism of classifying fiction and non-fiction as if fiction is of no consequence is dumb. And they resonate with us to the measure they actually affect immaterial truths in consequential ways.
