Murica is car centric. We have less than half of the cars per citizens in SĂŁo Paulo and the traffic is a game over. If you have to go to work/back in rush hour, its 4 hours stuck if you are lucky.
So there is a lot more demand (and funding) for public transport, because the roads just literally cannot take it and it can't be fixed. They tried.

The cities don't have to be though, and as a car autist I want the cities to be as walkable as possible, because if the city slicker NIGGERS don't need cars then they won't buy them and that's a good thing. Nobody should be allowed on the roads except me.
>they tried
I believe it. Cars take up too much room to work well in a population dense city.

Technically, whether one is able to understand the lyrics or not shouldn't matter that much, since most people don't know the lyrics of half their favorite songs anyway. However in practice it sure seems like people have an easier time enjoying songs in their own language, in a different language that they understand, or in one that has the same roots as their native tongue. For example, it's easy to find americans or brits who are into Rammstein but it's less common in populations that speak romance languages. In the same way that I don't know any anglos or germans that enjoy Giorgia, Annalisa, Zaz, etc.

>>46121

one aspect where you can really see the disparity in road space between americans and the rest of us is the way their pickup trucks are designed. the manufacturers always prioritize towing capacity over payload capacity. presumably because in the US you can drive around with 74 massive trailers following behind you and it will not be a problem at all. whereas around here being "tailgated" is the norm, not only in big cities but also in the downtown area of any small town

Turns out Shaiya is still alive, under a new publisher as of this year. When I say "alive", I mean it's more lively than 90% of the MMOs on the market. World chat was moving fast at 4 AM. Yeh, in that genre there is the Suzuki Jimmy, which is basically a tractor. Its very tiny (You can't have 3 adults sitting in the back lol) but monstrous in the offroad capability. It has leaf springs even.
I only hesitate on buying one because it can't get to safe overtake speeds in the highway, and that is scary.

I wish my little truck was a 4x4 but sadly they never offered the small engine option with the 4x4 driveline. I do have a limited slip rear diff but I have yet to put it in. I don't do much offroading honestly.

The ultimate evolutive rule is that the most adaptive wins, usually this applies over thousands of years, but as we accelerate things, it will be more so the case.
So it will be more of a case of chads and stacies fighting against whatever the fuck is that thing that just keeps adapting and becoming stronger.

Morning.
Interesting dream today. Been thinking about where I would like to live, subconscious did his thing.
>randomly exploring some nearby places
>find a small neighbor that seems to have a lot of small arcades, with strangely different videogames in it
>feels a bit like santa ifigenia (contraband central, filled with odd gadgets) but more like a small town
>the neighborhood kids play the arcades, pool and airsoft instead of common sports
>they go hard on air soft, having middle of the streets wars with pyrotechnics too
>the place is relatively poor, but the arcades and stuff are cheaper than usual too
>they watch movies and anime together in the arcades

Then I woke up, thought about it, went back to sleep, dream part 2 was "kind of" the same place, but years later and I lived in it. Now it had a big school, with a similar concept. But because I lived there, the "stakes" were different, and there was a lot going on. Factions and all sorts of drama.
It made me ponder the double edged sword of small communities, how you have to concern yourself with your reputation and relations or unlike in a large town you will face social exclusion or persecution.
Comparing both dreams seem to lead somewhere in understanding it somehow, btu I'm not there yet.

The first dream was about a community who chose to share an aspect of their lives, specifically the hobby of gaming and such, and restricted the interactions to/through that. Similar to how this community uses actress watching as a medium.

The second dream was about a community that lived WITHIN a hobby/subculture, and tried to use it to express/fulfil all their needs and as a social organization system.

Once again it falls back to the question of immaterial x material, or more clearly, fantasy vs reality.

She is mostly correct in her assertions, but she is mistaking these cults for the head of the snake, and she doesn't quite grasp the source of the problem, she seems to think it started with the thule society (nazi cult).

Those alien cults are indeed prevalent among the oligarchic class, it is what you get in mansonry lodges now. Some are not as dumb as scientology or mormonism, you have Thelema that says Aliens/Demons are the same thing and they are actually inter-dimensional beings. Deriving from platonism, egyptian religion, etc...
But those cults are just the lowest levels of the scheme, at the top you have sufism and other very ancient spiritual traditions.

The Thule society didn't start this problem, the problem is very ancient, since the earliest societies we had a problem with being enslaved by fake Gods and cults. Christianity solved that problem for a good few hundreds of years, but as cognition advanced and our knowledge advanced, it became outdated for the average individual, and we returned to a "free for all" state with weaker, but less outdated religions competing for control, many of them cults trying to enslave people.
That happened mostly during the illuminist period.
Alien cults are just one of the many, there are the sex/tranny cults, there are the simulation theory cults, etc...

The Thule society tried to resolve the problem of the weakening Christianity by drinking of the same early source as Christ did, the early proto-iranian/indo-european transcendence traditions. That is the same root as platonism, gnosticism, kabbalah, sufism, etc... everyone is trying to create the new modern standard version of that.

Yes, who can control who.

Christianity worked as an anti-virus preventing people from being psyoped en masse by shitty cults. The belief system itself doesn't allow you to be enslaved by the church, even if they managed to grab some power/money from it, it was far from slavery.

This allowed people to be self-organized instead of being enslaved, and this allowed the development of science and civilization itself.

With science, some people mistakenly believed that science itself could replace christianity as an anti-virus, but as demonstrated by modern cults, its not the case. This rupture prevented the evolution of christianity, and here we are.

So now we either go back to being slaves to gods/aliens until they collapse everything, or we develop a new belief system that allows for self-organization instead of slavery, and is harmonious with science.

I didn't think BG3 would be such a resounding success. It's still a CRPG after all, which we were told had fallen out of fashion with millennials and zoomers. Goes to show that just because the manufacturers (or devs in this case) think people don't want X doesn't mean that's necessarily the case, maybe they've just been making mediocre ones and that's why their sales fell off. I guess they blame the consumer because of some low iq psychological bias. Maybe if they came out with a really good RTS it'd sell like hot cakes too. Come to think of it, SC2 released after that genre was already declared dead and it broke multiple sales records IIRC

Anonymous 09/17/2023 (Sun) 17:10 [Preview] No.46252 del
It'd be nice if they brought back a genre I actually like (*cough* MMORPGs *cough*) instead but nice things never happen to me. I do enjoy CRPGs a bit more than RTSs and the other "dead" genres so I may give BG3 a spin after getting an appropriate GPU

Of course it is hard to get the average cattle person to see science is not miracles, but if you breed enough smart people and figure a way to make them work together, they will crush those people with ease.

>What's outdated about Christianity?
It doesn't answer the questions that pop in most modern people's heads anymore. The templars used to, and it would evolve from that but the church moved away from science the same as science moved away from church.

It goes something like this:

First religion (Voice):
>"big voice talked to me, said to gather those fruits for winter"
>other primitive humans can't even come up with such a similar story at all so they believe it and do it and it works

>time goes by humans get smarter

Second religion (Myth):
>"So, the flood that came was the sea god being angry and he told us to do Y"
>people now required the story to be more well thought, beyond their basic lies, to be believed

>humans got smarter
>third religion (religion)
>"So, there are 10 rules you must not break and if you break you have to attone and there is a fire pit and so forth"
>humans could understand simple systems now, and required to be explained how the system of that god worked to believe it

And so forth, going through philosophy and then science.

The basic truths about our experience, about religious experiences, about the cosmos, remain the same. But people require more and more complexity to agree on one.

And dumb people in particular are fucked, because they are exposed to information that contradicts the belief system, but not smart enough to understand the more complex answer.

It's not so much that, but more like, philosophical questions.
What is moral, what should I do, what is the right way to have a fulfilling life, etc...
What does the current religions, Christianity even, offers in regards of those?
You have far better answers in philosophy and even self-help quackery than the average sermon. The church set itself to "save the many", and by that its the lowest hanging fruit they can find, and just disregard everything else.
Are they technically wrong all you need to do is embrace Christ? No. But that leaves a lot of people out and growing ever more every generation.

Many of my early lucid dreams involved cenobite-like creatures, both killing me (in full detail and feel) and being killed by me, and me being one of them and killing others, lots of killing, cannibalism, rape, torture. Long hours of it. I can remember vividly how it all felt. Not fun at all to get over that, but very good in the end.

>>46260
Nobody is going to read the bible before finding a point of interest. And the bible's morality relies on you accepting its cosmological vision which is not clearly explained at any point and has been obscured by the church in many ways. It currently hinges on submission to the church itself (as representatives of God/Christ).
People's first interaction with christianity can be 1 of 2: Learning about christ's story and himself, which somehow just rings with people and still bring them on, or 2: Sermons and the church itself, being unhelpful and shallow. The bible later if you read by yourself can be a great source of philosophy, but if the church teaches you its meaning, not so much.

Christianity was an intervention against judaism first, not only denying their "chosen" status, but denying the whole core of the belief system that was founded on sacrifice (animal, human, symbolic) as path to salvation. With Christ becoming the only/last sacrifice. There is nothing superior (more sacred) to him that can be sacrificed, so no sacrifices make sense anymore.

Evangelicals are an attempt by jews of actually turning christians into their goy cattle on a religious level, which they did not have. They only had it by deception.

Been testing a lot the principle that the source of all suffering is mistaking reality and fantasy in several discussions of several topics, its working consistently.

An example:
>money is a lie (fantasy) we invented to convenience us
>if most people reject the lie, money does not work and we stay limited to bartering forever
>is people believe too much in the lie (fantasy) and mistake it for reality, you get capitalists and communists causing suffering

It's kinda like Santa Claus. It's a good lie because we know its a lie, we make it good and everyone knows its a lie but it creates a good thing as a shared fantasy we enjoy. If people genuinely believed in santa, you would have fanatics killing because of it, others going in expeditions to the north pole and dying, etc...

They're usually either too afraid of becoming a target or too jewish to splurge on a nice car, so I was impressed

I think I might have the same issue as you. For me my nose is too closed at night that when I wake up, one nostril is almost at 0 capacity and the other at maybe 60% being able to breathe through it. And because of the lack of oxygen I often feel tired or exhausted during the day. I did some testing to find out what could make it better, but nothing really helped much; and it is always worse in summer and when it's warm. But recently I have started to try out trying to sleep while sitting or at least not fully lying down and it was a big improvement. But is hard to fall asleep like that

I think it is. I'm also at my worst when falling asleep. For a while I wasn't able to sleep more than a couple hours before I would wake up with my nose almost completely blocked. So far what's helped the most is a nasal spray antihistamine called Azelastine; I have a prescription for it, but, at least over here, you can buy it over the counter under the brand name of Astepro or Astelin (and maybe others too). It's worth trying. I use it before going to sleep, and I'm mostly able to get through the night now. I have tried and am trying other medications as well but that made the biggest difference for me. I've tried sleeping with my head at an incline too, but it is indeed hard, and I never wake up in the position I fell asleep. Do you ever wake up with a bloody nose?

ten months of minimum wage (which is depressingly common because nobody goes to college here) is around $1.2m ARS which equals roughly $1.6k USD. You're probably looking at at least twice that for a car that actually runs, and will continue to do so for at least a couple months. So if it makes you feel any better, cars are even more expensive here, believe it or not. Or rather, wages are even worse in relation

Interesting, I have a similar problem. I don't have any allergies that I'm aware of, but one of my nostrils is permanently swollen. The doctor prescribed a nasal spray, don't remember what it was called, but it didn't seem to have much of an effect. I kind of gave up on trying to solve that problem as I did with my other health issues. Not enough budget or willpower anymore. Maybe that'll be a project in the future when I have the resources

I've tried sleeping with my head at an incline too, but it is indeed hard, and I never wake up in the position I fell asleep. Do you ever wake up with a bloody nose?
I have woken up with a nose bleed sometimes, yes. And I somtimes have blood in my nose after I wake up in the morning and blow my nose. But it used to have it more often 2-3 years ago where it was really bad. I sometimes would wake up because my entire nose was blocked and I couldn't breathe. I also have had random nose bloods for my whole life ever since I was a child. Maybe there is some correlation to the allergy. It is not as bad anymore after I have tried to implement a few measures against it such as
- washing bed sheets regularly or at least once a week at a high temperature
- try to keep the temperature in the room as cool as possible with AC
- nose rinse with a neti pot and a salt solution before going to bed helps to make breathing easier for a few hours at least
- this technique also unironically works for me and helps to free or unblock the nose for a few hours: https://youtube.com/watch?v=5zHK12LkUB4 [Embed]
These all seem to have had a positive effect, but the biggest was sleeping while sitting. I think I may be able to learn it. I was also able to learn sleeping on my back even though I used to always sleep on my stomach, which was the worst sleeping position for my nose as well. I think the closer you are to the dust mites in your bed sheets the worse the allergies get. Another thing you can do is put an anti allergenic cover over your pillow. In my case I have just put a trash bag over it

I am cautious with any medication. I don't know if this is true but I have heard that nasal sprays make you addicted to them somehow as well as damage the inside of your nose if you use them for too long

As they say, there is a lot to unpack.
It's not about rejecting all of the fantasy, its about not mistaking reality and fantasy. Meaning, being able to partake in fantasy without being tricked by it and led into suffering.
Rejecting the fantasy will also lead to suffering, because "what is" includes fantasy, both within ourselves and in society.

Similar issues as anons above. It seems that the side that gets blocked depends on which way my head leans. It might be called "deviated septum"?

I'll check out the natural unblocking method- my go to has just been a sort of humming that resonates up there and makes one sneeze. Also releases natural nitric oxide.

Disclaimer, I am not a doctor or anything, not even a mewing expert. This is a mix of instruction I've had and direct experience.

Mewing is a very important thing to prevent other dysfunctions of swallowing/breathing during sleep. It can take a long while before you learn how to use your muscles in a way that puts your tongue on the roof of your mouth without spilling out. But around that point, you can get it to be automatic and permanent. The most useful exercise for this purpose IMO is "caves" where you suction your tongue on the roof of your mouth while opening wide, trying to hold for a couple minutes. The big three things are just to keep your lips closed, breath through your nose and keep your tongue suctioned to the roof of your mouth, optimally at the spot where your tongue goes when you say "En". Eventually you'll even find you can swallow while like this.

Improving posture also helps a lot with this because you wind up needing less pillow support for your head to just lay on your back with your lower back flat against the bed.

For bloody noses, I wet my nose down regularly to keep it from getting dry. I try not to use hard water- if you can see mineral build up on your sink from hard water, can you imagine that inside your nose? That stuff has to be treated as a toxin or something if it isn't actually remaining in your nose.

I suppose they must be out there but only with the real zealots who couldn't care less about MPG or the cost of the engine and swap. South american consumers don't really care for V8s except for show cars/non-dailies or if they're actually useful, like say in a fullsize. And it's only recently that Falcons have stopped serving as dailies. There's probably a bigger proportion of them with work done now that they're for show

I'm sure there are side effects. Azelastine has the advantage at least that it isn't a steroid spray. I tried to avoid taking medication at first, but I plateaued with every other remedy. I followed the same measures as you, clean sheets, air purifier, neti pot, etc. I'll start trying that video's technique and give sleeping more upright another shot too. Thanks for the advice.

>>46395
>Similar issues as anons above. It seems that the side that gets blocked depends on which way my head leans. It might be called "deviated septum"?
If the blocked side changes, it's not a deviated septum. You likely have the same problem as us. It would be your nasal mucous membrane that is swollen.

>For bloody noses, I wet my nose down regularly to keep it from getting dry. I try not to use hard water- if you can see mineral build up on your sink from hard water, can you imagine that inside your nose? You could try a saline nasal spray. It's just a sterile saltwater solution. You're right about the hard water: any water that goes up your nose is supposed to be distilled, at least.

If you have issues with nose bleeds and use an AC or air dehumidifier, it might be that you are reducing the humidity so much that the air is too dry and your nose bleeds because it can't pick up enough humidity. At least I think that was the reason for me a while ago when I had nose bleeds more often
It is a bit of a difficult problem because on one hand, dust mites like high humidity so you want to reduce it, but if you reduce it too much it might not be good for breathing as well or cause nose bleeds

While it even has the skyrim powers, it lacks on the "in space" part, and the factions are not distinctive enough nor specialized in different skills enough.

You should have a certain hype of "I'm gonna play as a pirate this time!" and go in the right faction to obtain the specialized ships to do that, and get the right gear, etc...
Or "I'm gonna be an engineer this time!" and you go to the engineering school, and unlock the customization skills, etc...

It failed the mission, but it tried at least.

Even when they venture into older literature they'll do the same and ignore the major authors of the period in order to read some minor female or minority authors, or they'll just throw some wild interpretation onto one of the major authors with utter disregard for any authorial intention, e.g. modern Shakespearean criticism.
