This changes the level of what the language can be used for: roman letters and the english language in particular is very suitable for storytelling. It has a wide range of very exact descriptive expressions. Compare this to the arrogance of japanese where you cannot even know if there was one or more people present because there is no plural form and no "the", which although it doesn't exist explicitly in other european languages in the same way, still exists as a word form.

It does work very well for reading different meanings from the same phonetic expression, but using different kanji, which reduces the need for explaining which expression was referred to. This is does make for easier spellcasting, as the spirits effected can instantly see what character was used, as compared to having to read the mind of the writer to determine what he meant, when using the roman alphabet. If the writing is old, maybe the spell can't function at all, because the person who wrote it is dead since long and spirits coming into contact with it may not have akashic record access enough to interpret it.

Through this, it seems western culture by design is prepared for falling faster into oblivion, as its magic will inevitably whither away as the creator of each incantation passes away. A spell written in kanji or traditional chinese however will never lose its meaning as long as the galactic context remains, because its form refers to dimensional structures directly.
