I mean I know Macron has ties and strategic assets in Crimea and if Ukro gov falls none of those things can be acquired because promises of a fallen government are hard to keep. (Which was an obvious gamble from the Zelenkike gov because they either lose and no need to keep promises or they "win" and gtfo with a golden parachute forever and Ukro citizens can slave for a century or 2).
