Training these AI models is extremely costly. That's why this is "over" now, when investors are losing faith in it. Google making their Gemini so woke it even caused the woke-advocates to stop funding it, Microsoft having to add more servers for image generation, only to significantly reduce the functionality of Copilot chat 1 year later, it's showing clear signs that progress will be much slower ahead.

It's not just a rationalization, Copilot has very much reduced "intelligence" since the update about a month ago. They removed the setting for "creative, exact, balanced" and very often now it will give the exact same reply, word for word, when asking for clarification of the topic. It doesn't rephrase even if the first reply was AI generated for the specific question, even if asking with a different phrasing to get new input, it still gives the exact same reply over and over, making it feel like a very basic chatbot from before this current AI boom.

It's also way too censored now. Asking for a translation of a text, will often result in a refusal and being told to change the subject, even when it starts typing out the translation at first. Google also does this now, it's been made ridiculous. It will not translate words for genitals, even if using the biological or medical terms, and a song lyric with words like "butt" or "nigger" will not be translated. It feels like having a little jew reading over my shoulder and telling me I can't do what I've always done anymore.

I'm glad I still have my lexicon from the 1970s, it's often faster to find things there now, especially if it's geography, Google maps are very bad now.
