The difference with Chinese games is that they just copy whatever works without caring. I'm seeing a lot of people playing this Wild Assault, calling it a "furry game" but everyone still seems to like it for the gameplay. Son Wukong is a literal monkey so it makes sense to continue with similar things.
It didn't use to be this way. I can't recall there being any discussion whatsoever about games like this
