Yeah its people being smarter until the nineties where the trend reversed,smart people being forced to think in terms of binary for low level stuff since you had to if you wanted to be an engineer and also only really smart people used to be software engineers. They then made all kinds of stuff that made it easier to understand.

The top ai experts in the world maybe if they grew up in the eighties would have a similar understanding.

Now why is this?why not simply stay where you have the full understanding like apparently some aliens do. Well its simple. No one it seems can program things like this conventionally. Perhaps they wouldnt have been able to even if they tried till now. Maybe with a thousand years perhaps. Your ais sometimes kinda do this with using lots of time to make something where every single step is understood. The whole decision tree idea.a lot of old school ai is just if else statements really but it would be more difficult to achieve what ai can now do just relying on human level manipulation of basic programming concepts/blocks.progress was happening but slower.
