Madoka is not a good example here even when made. Magia Record which they ended up producing was a side arc prequel with the despair intact, and just as some American reviewer said in his blog title "why you shouldn't watch magia record season 2" it ended up a predictive advice as I never watching it even after downloading the full season. I had just zero interest in it after the end of S1. Some shows are like that, such as

First season: among the best I've seen, directly mirroring magical workings I was involved with at the time in the Sunflower "secret" group, they even show some of the rituals we did.

Season 2: went on hiatus mid-season, story is a mess, forgot what it's about and dropped it when the came back again a year later.
