[Joy] If you are going to adopt my host, please keep in mind that we have him pretty well under control. Not only does he wear a dust mask, eye protection, gloves, high socks, hat and is thereby nearly covered 100%, regardless of what he says, he is being instructed semi-hourly to hydrate and cool off.
[Bear] the work is 75% done, I finished the kitchen ceiling yesterday, bringing it up to code as well. The bathroom fan is up and I just finished calking and spackling. Sanding and painting is tomorrow as well as wiring, vent line, and insulation. The 6" roof vent has been there since mid-June.
There isn't a single sign of bats, rodents or even bugs at all. We dohave hantavirus and lime disease both of which are terrible awful diseases, but not worse than unrecognized rabis. That's 100% death if not caught early with no symptoms until you're already marked for death. Lyme disease doesn't go away either.
Fiberglass in the lungs sucks but it will go away in a week or so. It happened a couple times in my life, no I don't like it.
We have bats here, little ones, but they keep to the trees in the canyons and occasionally my front doorstep.
