Wouldn't that be because the board went down with no great notice, with no reputable backup setup beforehand? 8/a/ had a pretty well established and known bunker and is seeing some fair activity as a result, and everyone has an understanding of what's going on. I don't think 8/pol/ had any such option - maybe a few other competing boards, but all still hosted by 8chan.
