I still don't really understand what Mikuland is.

I'm alright, kinda spent most of my day laying in bed, but I rode to the shops and made some dinner. I spent a lot of time trying to set up a mini computer as a minecraft server for my little brother yesterday.

A VR event held every few months with Miku(&co.) themed virtual merch and areas open for a few days per occasion. Usually you get guest idols and the Cryptonloids to take selfies with, mini live-performance(if you're lucky), live broadcast from the areas on Nico and Youtube, etc.
Currently it's only a mini-event for Rin and Len with no hosts or activities, only the main area and a photo contest room where people can post pictures they took.

Not that much. 2-3 times a week.
Games are still lacking in both quantity and quality, it is more tiring than normal gaming, needs a bit of setup every session, controllers only last a few hours, etc. You don't need that much space for standing though. If you can stretch your arms without bumping into things, it should be enough. But mostly, I don't have that much time in general. It's still in its early days, but it's cool to experience it.

I did play a bit of beat sabre on my brother's PSVR and it was fun, but I think you're right that the games tend to have less of a budget. Did you try out the VR Half Life game?

Yeah, Alyx was pretty good. A bit slow, but quite the ride. Budget is one thing, but there are other factors, like performance constraints(if that's the right word). Mikuland too, when there are people around, drops in performance drastically for me.(which is why I tend to explore empty rooms)

Last year I got to hold hands with Miku, so who knows, maybe we'll all make it to the metaverse someday!
