If I may further delve into the realm of extrapolation, my suspicion is that Ashley's "mockery" of her mother would be very much unconscious, that is to suggest that characters such as Vegan Cathy would be amalgamations of distorted conceptions composed of loosely coalesced representations resting within the deepest reaches of Ashley's mental framework. She could have been mocking everyone and everything she came into contact with, as if all her comedic expressions were to take the form of dreams hypostatized into reality. Now, if the aforementioned claim is true, then it may stand to reason that all of Ashley's expressions, that is to say her behavior, would be subject to this rule of fantastical hypostitization, and consequently her decisions would be subject as well. But this suggestion negates the idea of absolute original thought, and therefore takes the position that not only beliefs, but every thought comes from something that is "learned". However, this claim can not be proven absolutely due to its structure beyond the realm of immediate, practical reality, and so no definite answer can be taken unconditionally. The enigma that is Ashley Jones is indeed a mystery, and I feel quite predisposed to the condition in which my riddle is encased about this wondrous mystery, if you catch my drift.
