It would've been a Privileged Kid thing certainly. The same kind that make up the European Backpackers we see today, who've got the dosh to fly around the world, hire a car for 3 months, then run around the Gold Coast and drop da pingas. Instead for young Australians today, you get the rich pricks like one of my nephews fly out to Bali and stay at $500/day bungalows.
