I don't really know how to explain, both wheels lost traction one after the other, but stayed straight.
But on the tarmac after I could neither break, nor accelerate, so it was just like the bike fell over sideways and just stepped clear of it.

Perhaps I could have accelerated it back in, but with no guarentee the rear wouldn't just spin out, dropping the bike seemed safer.
