1987 -- the year that Eternal High School Seniors began. In 1986 and before, there were only like 30 kids in Years 11 and 12 in my 1000 student highschool. You only became a Senior if you were planning on going to Uni, so about 80% of students left school at Year 10.
1987, the year I started Year 11, my thoughts of being among a cadre of Elites were dashed when like 90% of Year 10 continued on to Year 11 because of Austudy. Fucking noise.
