Now Google owns user devices the revenue model has changed a lot, and YouTube is actually attacking creators rather than simply making changes these people don't like.
Imagine they planned to change a rule in six months, told nobody, spent six months shadowbanning those people, then announced the change with immediate effect. They've done things like deleted people's content without warning, which might not have been backed up.
I think west's happening is that creators stay until they get burned, then never come back while at the same time new players just boycot YouTube.
