I've only read the first 2, not going to touch the rest. It's interesting how so many writers go downhill. It's not a universal thing - george martin and jk rowling managed to write lots of good follow up books. Maybe that's why george refuses to finish winds of winter - he can tell he's lost it, doesn't want to be one of those writers who put out awful sequels in their old age.
