All humans have the MC1R gene (Melanocortin 1 Receptor). It is true that specific mutations in the MC1R gene cause red hair in both Irish and Udmurt populations. However, Udmurts are not Slavic. They are a Finno-Ugric people, distinct from Slavic groups. While MC1R is the primary driver, other genes can also play a role. I suppose you could say I'm a Finno-Slavic person. Even the language spoken in the place where he was born was partly Slavic, with a large number of Finno-Ugric loanwords.
