>If there is one person riding around in the peloton without an ego, it is Van Aert! He could have won the stages Brennan won as well; he has given away victories to teammates and sacrificed himself so often for team leaders that I don't see anyone else in the peloton doing that! So, is he perhaps allowed to go for his own chance just this once in this Vuelta? A rider of his caliber is allowed to simply claim that right, especially after having worked as a domestique for a 21-year-old kid in every stage of the Vuelta where he was the favorite, even if Brennan might have a better chance.
