Japan is pretty much a 1 party state, the LDP was in decline for a bit before getting the big win today. Which is obviously why she called a snap election, because her popularity was high, unlike the last three PMs who were very unpopular. Was just very unlikely they would actually lose, although didn't really expect them to make a comeback so quick. If she does a bad job, they probably will lose the majority again next election, but they also don't really have any incentive to call another one for now.
