I was looking at a T490s a few weeks ago and decided to ask about it. The /g/ opinion was it's not as good as getting a T480 or T14 G1 if you want newer. Apparently it has poor repairability and the cooling isn't as good. The one I saw was only $150(212 aud), so still pretty cheap. Didn't get it, but I wasn't seriously looking either. Not sure how much matters to you in all those regards. Other reviews I saw for the t490s seemed favorable, but it all comes down to what you want and care about.
