If you can afford a Mac, you can afford to have spare parts for the pc, or buy spare parts if something goes sideways. In fact I would acquire the cheapest parts available for testing purposes to look for the faulty hardware (via exclusion by swapping with the cheapo parts), then buy a new one if it is found.
