Funny you would say that Rabbi but get this what Jesus said was simple:

Meaning, Jews chose to separate themselves from the rest of the worshipers of "pagan deities" by selecting one god from many (much like Arabs with Islam, seems to be a pattern here...) They recognize "divinity of multiple entities" but also at the same time "recognize the non-chosen as demons." Hint. You might be more on the line morally/philosophically with Jesus Christ and his words within the Bible than you realize if you just took the time to understand within context of Legalism First vs Humanity First principles. (The Sabbath being made for man not the man for the Sabbath. Ergo it should be beneficial to be followed not when it isn't.) And bunch of other things like having no leader to follow, no group that can guide you, nobody else but yourself dictating your own life according to moral principles you find agreeable, is basically the core thing within Christian teachings in the Bible and yes it makes perfect sense; Christianity and Bible are aligned with Individualist Capitalism of Free Markets and respect towards earthly authority but not bondage to unlike Collective socialist principles like water and oil they do not mix.
