And bunch of other things like having no leader to follow, no group that can guide you, nobody else but yourself dictating your own life according to moral principles you find agreeable, is basically the core thing within Christian teachings in the Bible and yes it makes perfect sense; Christianity and Bible are aligned with Individualist Capitalism of Free Markets and respect towards earthly authority but not bondage to unlike Collective socialist principles like water and oil they do not mix.
