The delousing stations (steam containers for clothing, hanging garments, the whole hygiene setup) show active efforts to fight lice and typhus, not deliberate neglect or weaponization of disease. Some deaths were real (typhus/starvation from the final collapse and bombed supply lines), but the scale and method get strained when you factor in the swamp, the crowded liberation crowds, and the practical anti-epidemic measures.
