You didn't get Twifags because they were blinded and defended what they loved. Nothing more and nothing less,they went through times when they were really misunderstood( Twilight's inconsistencies didn't help) but looking at retrospective,it was painful to talk about her publicly.

You couldn't be proud of her or talk about anything without pointing out the wings joke and brainless responses( more or less what happened to Dolores Umbridge during the last year). I say that you will enjoy her the less you get obsessed about those changes. They are inherent to her and part of a new charm is that...she got away with it somehow.

Don't have any rush to watch season 7 but I must say that you won't worry about these topics whenever you watch them.

FiM has gone through a lot of consistencies and huge mistakes yet those didn't prevent from enjoying standalone episodes for what they delivered. I think that perspective helped me to be more open about her recent appeareances and enjoy Twilight more than other fags.
