Is this still about that group who wants you to become Lucifuge? I don't think they will give up. Probably they are just seeing your resistance as further reason to keep going, places like that don't want rulers who can be bent easily. Maybe they will only stop once you defeat them, by which time you'd have had to learn how they work to such a degree that you already earned the title and would stay as their leader.
