He swtiched up out of nowhere. He said something about giving Clyde too many chances and getting tired of seeing him canonically be Lincoln's yes man. I halfway get his frustration. But he could've just adapted his story or Clyde within in his headcanon. In the end I think he just hopped on the Lincoln worship train to get his characters recognized.
