"Oh! Loan?" Lori gasped from her bedroom door. "Is everything alright? Did you win already?" She threw a box of tissue behind her door.

"No I-...I wanted to see if.." Her parents watched her mumble. "I just want to e-" They watched her struggle.

"Did something happen honey? Is everything ok?" Lori walked over.

Lincoln and Lori looked to each other. They watched Loan fidget. They watched her run right past them. Then yank the refrigerator door open.

"I just forgot...you guys were making my favorite tonight." She held a lukewarm plate in her hands. "I couldn't just let it go cold."
