>Microsoft to release emergency fix for Windows 11 update that caused widespread problems

The October Windows 11 update "breaks localhost (127.0.0.1) HTTP/2 connections," according to Windows Latest, which also listed a number of issues that users are facing. For example, apps that were hosted locally were no longer able to connect to the network. Windows users were also finding that some hardware by Logitech was no longer working on their PCs. In addition, some users reported that their mouse and keyboard wouldn't work in WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) and that File Explorer document wouldn't open in the Preview pane due to a false security issue.

>Sapphire asks AMD for more freedom in partner GPU designs: “Let us go nuts”

Ed's preferred approach is straightforward. AMD would supply the GPU and memory, set the requirements needed for the card to work correctly, then let partners handle the rest. He says that would enable real differentiation between models, rather than many cards feeling to similar.

installed it, dont like the synaptic package manager but I'll put up with it for the sake of the extra 100 or so less mb of ram usage, more pre installed apps than i thought it would have, even 2 of the same type (text editor/wordpad)
ill scrub out all the shit i dont need when i wake up currently at around 600mb idle

>Windows 11 is dropping its worst OneDrive dark pattern: after years of complaints, Microsoft will let you fully opt out

Microsoft had a change of heart, as Windows 11 has finally dropped one of its worst dark patterns, where you could never permanently dismiss OneDrive backup alerts. A new full-screen alert, which previously did not allow you to reject OneDrive, is being sent out to users, and it now has an “Opt out” button.
