Post the most interesting car or truck or whatever you ever owned, and also your dream car.

Most interesting car: 1989 Buick Reatta. It had a CRT touch screen, it had fiber optics running into the light housings on the inside of the doors, to sense when the lights went out, for the diagnostic system. It was all around badass but weight was all at the front and it was not actually fast

The car I wish I had is an original Audi Quattro. And not gimped like the north american version (this gimpage can be reversed though)

I recently went to see what people want on major used car sites and the only one for sale in the whole US that I could find was listed for $20k

I happen to know where one is literally rusting (but not too bad) sitting in a pasture in S/E Michigan but I do not actually know the person that owns it. But it just sits there rotting. Mmmm..

my most interesting one was a 2000 suzuki swift gti hot hatch thing pic related in color only. anyhow i set it up as a full hill climb car with fully tunable suspension was a great car you could set it up for what you needed on the side of the road

Other car is a 1967 xr falcon with a windsor 347 stroker making 500hp at the fly. pics are of the car. sold it when i had kids as i had no money.

also had a 94 r32 skyline but it was a fucking black hole piece of shit that was sending me broke and was still shit

Quite intrigued about the Suzuki. Got any stories?

That's a bottom-tier company when it comes to cars, could I have a lot of fun tuning some junker Suzuki?

they where big in the late 90s easy to tune parts are getting a little harder to get now but you dont need a gti. i lie when i call mine a gti but its easy to get people to understand.
what you will need is a 1.5 out of a sedan swift with throttle body injection they are physically same size as the 1.3 and the supercharger off a 4agze out of the late 80s mr2. make some brackets for the supercharger (you are going to loose a/c but its a SUPERCHARGER!!!!
wheels i was using some 16X7 light weight wheels.
Suspension wise whiteline in aus made all the bits you could ever want but my setup was 2" lower progressive springs front and back, lover control arm brace(front). strut tower braces front and back, now the swift never had a rear sway bar so whitleine did a kit so i got a 22mm rear swaybar with solid urethane mounts. front is a 24mm and you will need to replace the factory mounts. camber adjusting bolts for the front. koni adjustable shocks front and back( you could go coil overs but too much money). front brakes are same as gti so drilled and slotted rotars is all you need and some good break pads. at the back replace the drums with the solid disks off a gti and good brake pads.
So you may be asking why not put 4 piston callpers and shit on it, well 2 reasons unsprung weight and the care weighs nothing. this should be enough to scare the shit out of yourself, you will find the car now has heaps of under steer which is cool in a front wheel drive as it is sooo easy to correct for.
So sad when i sold that car had it for 8 years i cried alittle. then the stupid bitch i sold it to pained it orange and put a shitty body kit on it the dream dies.
anyhow now have a 66 vc val and im in love all over again. i will try and find some pics of it later

the setup above is not expensive and a hell of alot of fun. if you do get a gti even better but that was a budget hill climb car that made people shit there pants when you feel the force of the car ripping around corners

Off-topic but imageboards really could use a fairly active automobile board. It's kind of like the topic of food, every time it comes up on a popular board (but off-topic) people want to talk about it, but there are no really popular boards set on that topic.

I started /auto/ here but have neither the time nor inclination to actually try to grow a board. Was glad when I saw somebody else is trying.

I think there could be a board somewhere on the internet that gives voice to people interested in vehicles, or just in general even more stuff like tractors, chainsaws, etc. Get help when troubleshooting, get in fights about ford vs GM, etc etc, all without some lame forum membership and all that entails.

If it was big enough anybody could drop in and say something like

>Hey I am a dumbass and was washing my radiator at a car wash, and sprayed not that much water on the top of the engine of my '99 Monte Carlo Z34 with a 3800 Series II engine. Almost immediately it started stuttering on idle and worse on acceleration. Check engine light came on but I didn't make it to a reader in time and now it still stutters on really hard acceleration but the check engine light went away

>Can I still read what the last code was if I hook up a computer, or does the check engine light need to be on to figure out what sensor I fucked up?

That's an example but is actually something I'm curious to know the answer as it is happening to me currently

Dem shitbox feels. 3 door, and the doors are pretty wide. Deep seat, non height adjustable.

Want to see some fucking damage control
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_MP4-30

Of all these articles this car has so much text because Mclaren or their fanboys are just shitting themselves 2015 was so bad that customer teams were beating them in races, if they even finished.

It's pretty funny.
