how do i get a thread taken down? I made a thread on a board but it is pretty much dead and people keep sharing CP on it. I feel guilty for this

If cp is getting posted use the report facility. Don't forget to mark "global" checkbox.
If the board is "dead", it might be claimable. You can check the status on the boards page. If it is claimable you can claim it (see board claiming process, link on the home page), and as a BO you can delete the thread.

Board owners/volunteers: use the authenticated staff thread view for bans, IP/range info, thread settings, transfer, and spoil tools. This public thread page is shared with all visitors and caches, so the controls below are only delete/report.

Reason: Password: Global Remove media from post Scrub media (remove image from site)
