Local government cracks down on employees' Christmas decor

A Washington state county informed its employees last month that they needed to keep Christmas and Hanukkah decorations out of their virtual meeting backgrounds because of how other employees would perceive it.

The human resources officer for King County in Washington issued a memo, "Guidelines for Holiday Decorations for King County Employees," last month that said employees should "consider the likely effect" religiously themed decorations would have on their fellow employees, according to Seattle-based conservative talk show host Jason Rantz.

"King County’s outrageous ban on home holiday decorations is ridiculous as a policy matter," Sasser wrote. "The secular state has nothing to fear from the menorah or the dharma wheel, particularly if those displays are within the home of the employee and simply in the background of a Zoom call."

Corrupted FBI Says Twitter Infiltration "Business As Usual"

The FBI has issued a statement in response to the Elon Musk's release of THE TWITTER FILES, which boils down to 'Of course we've embedded ourselves in social media companies, and anyone who has a problem with it is a conspiracy theorist trying to tarnish our stellar reputation.'

Americans Anticipate Economic & Environmental Trouble In 2023

Americans aren’t feeling great about the economy and the environment in the coming year, according to the latest poll by Ipsos: https://www.ipsos.com/en/ipsos-global-predictions-2023

As Statista's Anna Fleck details below, out of approximately 1,000 surveyed U.S. adults, more than three quarters said that prices in their country will increase faster than people’s wages, while around two thirds said unemployment will be higher than in 2022.

At the same time, 65 percent of respondents think it’s likely that a natural disaster will hit a city in the United States in the coming year, marking a slight uptick of 2 percent since the end of 2021. This last concern is more widespread in the U.S. than most of the other 31 countries surveyed by Ipsos on the topic, with only a higher share of respondents saying it was likely a natural disaster will occur in their countries in Indonesia (78 percent) and Turkey (66 percent).

When it comes to the climate, roughly half of U.S. respondents (52 percent) believe that the coming year will bring some of the hottest weather on record, with a third (36 percent) even saying that parts of the country will become unlivable due to an extreme weather event. This year alone, the world has seen multiple records broken in terms of peak temperatures, with widespread droughts, as well as devastating wildfires. At the same time, most respondents were doubtful of whether there will be a breakthrough in technology developed which will halt climate change next year, with only 23 percent agreeing it was likely, falling short of the slightly more optimistic global average of 32 percent.

In spite of all this however, respondents have not all lost hope. Around two thirds of U.S. adults still said that they thought next year would be better than 2022 (still delusional).

Media Downplays Gun-Carrying "Good Samaritan" Who Stopped Mass Shooting At Amazon Facility

Liberal mainstream media outlets have downplayed, yet again, another story about a good guy with a gun preventing a mass shooting.

That's precisely what happened last Wednesday when a man was hailed as a "good Samaritan" by police after he stopped an active shooter at an Amazon Flex Warehouse in Chandler, Arizona, according to FOX 10 Phoenix: https://www.zerohedge.com/political/media-downplays-good-samaritan-gun-stops-shooting-amazon-facility

Bryton Bobbitt, a contracted Amazon worker, told reporters he was preparing for his delivery route when he heard gunfire:

"All of a sudden, just hear pop, pop, pop. [I] start looking around, like where did that come from? A few of our other workers started running.

"I was already in my work van, I put it in gear and tried to find a safe place and got out of here."

Meanwhile, a second Amazon worker, who was armed, saw the shooter, 29-year-old Jacob Murphy, attempt to enter the building before shooting an employee. The shooter was a non-employee searching for a person at the facility over "jealousy issues" regarding his girlfriend.

That's when the armed Amazon worker went into action and fired at Murphy, wounding him. The shooter instantly dropped to the ground, likely preventing further bloodshed. Then the armed Amazon worker rushed over to the individual who the suspect shot until first responders arrived on the scene.

"Murphy was pronounced deceased due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound and gunfire," Sgt. Jason McClimans told reporters.

Police said the victim who Murphy first shot "is still recovering and will survive." Officials also noted that the employee who shot the suspect cooperated with the investigation and was not considered an additional suspect, adding that the person was a "good Samaritan."

Gun Owners of America commented on the story:

"Thankfully, Arizona is a Constitutional Carry state, and as a result, this Good Samaritan was ready and able to defend himself and others at a moment's notice in a dangerous situation. GOA will continuously work to ensure that everyone is fully able to exercise their God-given right to self-defense."

GOA applauds the actions of this Good Samaritan! He was prepared to defend himself and he saved lives.

Texas National Guard troops deployed to El Paso have constructed a razor-wire barrier along the Rio Grande and have been blocking people from making unauthorized crossings into the United States amid a migrant surge and legal back-and-forth about ending Title 42, a Trump-era rule that helped stem the tide of illegal immigration.

Acting under orders from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, several hundred soldiers that are part of a “contingency border force” have set up along the river channel separating El Paso from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, with the aim of preventing people from crossing the border illegally.

“This morning, service members deployed to El Paso, Texas constructed a triple-strand concertina barrier near the border to secure the area from illegal crossings,” the Texas Military Department, which oversees the state’s National Guard, said in a Dec. 20 statement.

The Texas National Guard told media outlets that its service members are trying to funnel asylum-seekers to designated ports of entry while their “primary goal” is to prevent “illegal crossings into Texas.”

A group of around 75 people seeking to enter the United States through an unauthorized crossing faced off against National Guard members and state troopers on Tuesday, according to the Texas Tribune, which reported that a National Guard service member told them through a bullhorn that they would be unable to enter.

Catherine Austin Fitts (CAF), Publisher of The Solari Report and former Assistant Secretary of Housing (Bush 41 Admin.), says the U.S. government is so fraudulent that it will self-destruct much sooner than later. CAF predicts, “If you look at FTX, my question is how much of the money sent to Ukraine got laundered right back for the (2022 midterm) election? That was everybody—together. So, there is no Right vs Left. There is no Trump vs Biden. There is a machine in control of a spending machine that is financed with our taxes, and debt borrowed in our name, that is being sold into our pension funds and retirement accounts. . . . That machine, to keep balancing the books, is implementing a depopulation plan. That is the reality that has to be faced and changing the President won’t matter. . . . If you want to make real progress against the machine, you’ve got to talk turkey about where your money is going, who are the local leaders and who are your state legislators who are going to support you when this machine fails you completely. If it doesn’t fail you in 2023, it will fail you in 2024. So, you better be ready.”

Russia Moving Trainloads into Belarus: S-400, Iskander Missiles, 70+ Tanks

After yesterday's meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, a first in more than 3.5 years, there are noticeable developments. No surprise given that Putin was accompanied by Defense Minister Shoigu, Foreign Minister Lavrov and Kremlin Press Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Attendees from world media outlets took notice at exactly who was in the Russian entourage; the three top men from the Russian government and a rare foreign trip by the top Kremlin spokesman as well. There hasn't been this level of high-ranking Russian officials to any single foreign meeting since . . . the Cold War.

Suddenly Everyone Is Hunting for Alternatives to the US Dollar

(Bloomberg) — King Dollar is facing a revolt.

Tired of a newly weaponized greenback, some of the world’s biggest economies are exploring ways to circumvent the US currency.

Smaller nations, including at least a dozen in Asia, are also experimenting with de-dollarization. And corporates around the world are selling an unprecedented portion of their debt in local currencies, wary of further dollar strength.

No one is saying the greenback will be dethroned anytime soon from its reign as the principal medium of exchange. Calls for “peak dollar” have many times proven premature. But not too long ago it was almost unthinkable for countries to explore payment mechanisms that bypassed the US currency or the SWIFT network that underpins the global financial system.

Now [with fiscal insolvency at an all-time high] its use under President Joe Biden to enforce sanctions on Russia this year and new technological innovations are together encouraging nations to start chipping away at its hegemony. Treasury officials declined to comment on these developments.

“This will simply intensify the efforts in Russia and China to try to manage their part of the world economy without the dollar,” said Paul Tucker, a former deputy governor of the Bank of England in a Bloomberg podcast.

“The Biden administration made an error in weaponizing the US dollar and the global payment system,” John Mauldin, an investment strategist and president of Millennium Wave Advisors with more than three decades of markets experience, wrote in a newsletter last week. “That will force non-US investors and nations to diversify their holdings outside of the traditional safe haven of the US.”

Plans already underway in Russia and China to promote their currencies for international payments, including through the use of blockchain technologies, accelerated rapidly after the invasion of Ukraine. Russia, for example, began seeking remuneration for energy supplies in rubles.

Soon, the likes of Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Laos were also stepping up negotiations with China to boost their use of the yuan. India began talking up more loudly the internationalization of the rupee and just this month, started securing a bilateral payment mechanism with the United Arab Emirates.

Moscow looked to convince India to use an alternative system to keep transactions moving. Myanmar’s junta spokesman said the dollar was being used to “to bully smaller nations.” And Southeast Asian countries pointed to the episode as a reason to trade more in local currencies.

“Sanctions make it more difficult – by design – for countries and companies to remain neutral in geopolitical confrontations,” said Jonathan Wood, head of global risk analysis at Control Risks. “Countries will continue to weigh economic and strategic relationships. Companies are caught more than ever in the crossfire, and face ever more complex compliance obligations and other conflicting pressures.”

All-in, the efforts are driving momentum further away from a West-led system that’s been the bedrock for global finance for more than half a century. What’s emerging is a three-tier structure with the dollar still very much on top, but increasing bilateral payment routes and alternative spheres such as the yuan that seek to seize on any potential US overreach.

The US Dollar may still reign supreme for now but the building momentum for transactions in alternate currencies shows no sign of slowing.

Taxpayers will fund the erection of press statues in Washington, D.C., along with handing out media subsidies worth over $1 billion, if the Omnibus bill is passed into law in the coming days.

The location of a commemorative work to commemorate the commitment of the United States to a free press by honoring journalists who sacrificed their lives in service to that cause within Area I, as depicted on the map entitled ‘‘Commemorative Areas Washington, DC and Environs’’, numbered 869/86501 B, and dated June 24, 2003, is approved.

The statues will be located in “Area I,” according to the bill, which appears to encompass areas of the Mall in Washington, D.C., along with the White House, Tidal Basin, Theodore Roosevelt Island, and the Potomac shoreline in Virginia.

No budget or allocation of money was disclosed in the bill.

The omnibus bill also provides taxpayer money to the establishment media. In section 407, taxpayers will give over $500 million to the Corporation for Public Broad (CPB) and $600 million for infrastructure within the public media system:

According to CPB’s website, the entity is “the steward of the federal government’s investment in public media and supports the operations of nearly 1,500 locally owned and operated public television and radio stations.”

The federal government should not finance the media because funding often comes with strings attached, leading to biased reporting. Furthermore, media that is being funded by the government at taxpayer expense is the very definition of State-owned media, something that traditionally appalled true democracies and constitutional republics alike. Not to mention it makes a mockery out of a nation claiming itself to have free market capitalism, such could not be further from the truth.

These are truly dark cold days in American history.
