Privacy Search Engine Anonymous 09/08/2025 (Mon) 19:44 [Preview] No. 15725
Big search engines like Google track your activity and sell your data for ads — which is why a lot of us don’t search freely anymore. I’ll share a few alternatives I’ve found, and would love to hear what others are using too!

DuckDuckGo: Best for untracked searching
Startpage: Best for unprofiled browsing
MyAllSearch: Clean interface and an emphasis on user privacy.
Qwant: GDPR-protected searching
Startpage: Combines the top results of multiple engines, primarily Gigablast and Yandex.

I’ve reviewed a few of the options listed, and the results are largely the same across the board. What I find frustrating, though, is the constant appearance of 'AI Suggestions.' I’d prefer to do my own searching without having snippets pushed at me. I get that this is the direction things are heading, but seriously—if I want an AI-generated summary, I’ll ask for one.
I can't be the only one fed up with that!!!

What about searx?
https://searx.space/

Also you could try using various SERP APIs, or services that connect to these and return json structured data of the search results, like serp.dev.

Oh it's that guy who owns Oracle AKA the worst enteprise software in existence. I'm talked to some people who use it at their jobs. They fucking hate using any software Oracle related.

this is more of a search engine scraper rather than an actual search engine. it's a proxy search engine.
the server is literally just a fucking scraper, but it (oftentimes) just werks.
https://4get.ca
http://4getwebfrq5zr4sxugk6htxvawqehxtdgjrbcn2oslllcol2vepa23yd.onion/
other instances are available on the clearnet as well.
he also claims that other TOR links to it other than the primary one provided by the main owners instance is a honeypot. it's basically searx afaik.
he has his own selfhosted git instance with the source for it.

there was some sec auditor who ended up lashing out at ddg for scraping fucking Bing results. and Bing is owned by Microsoft.
not to mention the fact that it has a lot of telemetry at the very moment you open up ddg.
UBO acts up when you go it. IIRC they claim that it is used for tracking but persists only for a session but its still telemetry.
