Have you ever craved the feeling of a warm fire while snuggled under a blanket? Possibly with hot cocoa? From idyllic scenes of a cozy log cabin or even something as simple as spending time on the computer with your favorite snack while surfing the web till the wee hours of the morning the feeling of /comfy/, homely experiences and simple pleasures, is one we all can enjoy.

However... have you ever wanted those things while underwater?

If so, then /Seapone/ is for you! /Seapone/ is /endpone/'s thread dedicated to Seaponies and secondarily aquatic themes and creatures of Equestria at large with a slight twist: the sea as a homely and /comfy/ place. /Seapone/ will not turn away other themes or concepts but by and large this thread aims to be a celebration of the softer and gentler side to what lies beneath the ocean depths and what better way to do so then with Seaponies? Especially Gen 4's take on them?

Sit back. Relax and take your shoes off. And dive in to the ocean depths. It's Seapony posting time!

I think Seaponies are perhaps still a bit niche but much stronger than before. Hehhehe, if there is anything I can say about G5 with full positive approval as opposed to mixed "I don't hate it but don't love it" it is that (even if I may dislike some of the artstyle).

I think that your praise towards them comes from the likeness in their designs, as if both gen 4 and gen 5 artstyles were merged for the design´s philosophy. So, in a way, there´s some kind of deja vu or timeless feeling where everything that felt new and fresh for gen 5, they show up and the living past is right in front of you in spite of all the changes.

On top of that, some fan drawings make you feel as if you were living in 2017, when they were reintroduced by the gen 4 movie. So, time skips doesn´t seem to apply here, visually speaking.

They may not rank as one of the most mainstream species in the series but they are surely earning the title of standing as the most timeless ones in design terms.

Do you believe that the whole arc is worth posting either here or on the comic thread?

I may share it around endpone if anyone feels like checking it out and sharing opinions around here.

I ask this because one cannot tell when Destiny will come back to the TYT episodes or even be shown again on the show. Maybe it will take a few weeks, months or even next year for another appearance.

So, comics are the only possible medium all that one can officially get (in gen 5 terms, just to note), hence why I bring up this question.

Oh, I agree that probably is a factor. Albeit, I think not the only one. (What are these other factors, I don't know yet!)

I do notice some stylistic tendencies that are a bit different, a bit softer, more simpler painted look perhaps. These don't annoy me like some of the modern trends though, so I am cool with it.

This is to consolidate all the great animations, PMVs, animatics the fandom made that you keep going back to appreciate.
It's also to encourage some folder dumps because we're bound to not have all the same ones.

No need to be codec or carrier centric; mkvs and mp4s are fine too.
Since the End didn't like the 20MB encoding of whatever animation I've renamed to 'uppity pegasi' (what're they up to, up there?), I've recompressed it and include it here as the first of ... a fair number of files.

The Sun Whispers Your Name
This is the cover of that fic. One that I am fairly certain I've posted before. The cover and the feeling it invokes in me is hard to describe. I have always been drawn to things that give me a "wondrous" feeling. It has taken me a longtime to figure out what invokes that (and if even the word "wondrous" is best fit) but one of the patterns is vast empty spaces and a feeling of endlessness. Starscapes and the vast tapestry of the sky are an obvious one, but I think endless grassy fields and seas might be a bit more niche. Anyway, a lot of fic covers invoke this feeling within me and this one is my go to example. The city is haunting and slightly foreboding, but the grassy plain around actually plays a large part of why I am drawn to this image. The music here is obscure unless you were part of Bionicle fandom I wouldn't expect anyone to know of it:

It is almost a perfect choice for conveying the feeling that I have with this picture, albeit slightly too creepy.

Did not know that! I found this pretty humorous, never heard of this show.

I don't know their attitude there to pone too well but I would imagine a slight stigma generally exists for G1 stuff but less strong... not something I've actually checked out. Might want to look around and see how independent G1 memes and such are from G4, considering they predated FiM's rise (Seaponies anybody?)

I've had similar thoughts, albeit I am not the most well kept up with fanfiction past 2014, lol! My guess is that unicorns are rarely "needed" -as in character roles or plotwise-for that sort of role when you have pegasi and alicorns, not to mention griffons, hipogriffs and the like, to fulfill various roles. Thinking of in terms of an RPG, unicorns not levitating or it being a bit taxing/unused on them means you need a flying character (or two!) and thus more interesting party overall/not one OP being able to dominate too much. I barely have done any RPing though. Just to note.

The way that RP system handled it, you didn't need to be a particular tribe to do magic, thus the jennet levitating large objects, and also a PC could cast, and I think it was literally called this, "falling with style"
Like feather fall but with just a bit more oomph. So Flarestar would use a weightlessness spell to catapult herself into the air, then switch to falling with style and glide around playfully as she slowly drifted back to the ground.
She wasn't actually 'flying' the way Glim-Glam was when she visited Cloudsdale; just floating around from 50' up so she could enjoy the view.

The trick isn't deciding what's wrong with the tags as-used-now, the trick is convincing the unwashed hordes it's worth going back to re-tag all the backlog of artwork so you can find what you want and exclude what you don't.

interesting. Even though it makes a lot of sense considering that writing systems were pretty much non-existent (with a handful of exceptions of course) and the illiteracy rates were downright dreadful at the time,let´s not going to lie ourselves.

pretty much what I haven´t hidden in these two screencaps. I think that the 5 NMAiE generals (the equivalent of the MLP General) should give you an index of the main relevant threads that have been popping up over time as well as some works from the main users.

By the way, he is the oldest user of this place by a long shot (even close to being an original user when the 8chan migration test occurred) but we had to figure out to his status indirectly, he doesn´t claim that by himself. For the most part, there are some subtleties and indirect puns in order to send a hidden message throughout his posts at times, so he...is Outside this place, IIRC I think that he has a Twibooru profile for his activity in other circles as well as turning into the owner (?) of /8pone/ for keeping it alive to some degree.

I mentioned somewhere around here that Ponies at Dawn were releasing an album? It includes an EDM remake of Scarborough Fair.

It reminds me a bit of where flimflamfilosphy/Greg was going in the direction of his ponies before he gave up. At least the look in his Nepotism Adventures series. I have a weird relationship with Greg in that I disliked most of his artistic output didn't hate, but not my taste and I felt that MAS fans were a bit elitest and the humor and tone was FAR from my tastes. Yet ran into people around him often and is probably the only major artist/creator in this fandom I have ever interacted with. It was interesting watching him struggle with pony as Petirep moved on to other things and copyright prevented him from just using screencaps and redubing so he tried going for it on his own with no artistic experience and just forced himself forward.
