Recently I had a 2TB SSD that crashed. You know how much they fucking want to replace that!?

.... $650 fucking dollars!!!

I just don't have that kind of money. Fortunately I have a few other choices but not a 2TB SSD.

As far as magnetic I kind prefer magnetic drives still and have a couple external 16TB magnetic drives, along with one empty unopened backup. I'm holding onto those with my dearest life because the fuck if I'd be able to afford replacing those anymore!

Oh by the way, if there are any super computer savvy nerds here who are reading this, I'd like to beg you for a favor trying to find a resolution to my SSD problem.

So my file system got corrupted on the old OS partition. I used the DBAN .iso to boot and nuke the SSD drive to unallocated space in order to install another OS. Problem is, computer shows the following error: 0x80300024 (???) Basically I can't repartition the SSD, nothing seems to work anymore. So did I do something wrong? Can I fix that SSD or am I fucked?

Thanks anon, will definitely give these tips a try since I cannot afford another 2TB SSD anytime soon :)

Thanks for the input but I'm getting a professional to look into it now. I've tried basically everything suggested and nothing is working. The computer repair dude said he gets a lot of complaints about modern SSDs and I'm starting to think I should just go back to magnetic drives instead. It's possible if he can't fix it that is exactly what I'll do, switch to a magnetic harddrive.

i thought you weren't supposed to use dban on SSDs? did they add an ssd wipe feature?

You are not necessarily supposed to, true, but some online research I have done there were many sources stating this will not ruin the SSD, it simply does not fully delete all the data during a wipe. Honestly I have no clue if that may BE the problem with my SSD but within the next week it will be diagnosed and either fixed or I'll be told I need to have it replaced. If I must replace it I'm going back to magnetic drives from now on as they are cheaper and less prone to these kinds of problems.

>will not ruin
depends on how many passes.
ssds are shit these days. if you're not interested in speed, wd green has worked well for me in the past in a raid. it was simply used for casual access.

Turns out it was not an SSD problem, it was an issue with a capacitor inside the motherboard. I'll just salvage the RAM and 2TB SSD and swap it with another laptop is all.
