Trump mentioned Orbán in a speech of his recently, claiming how Orbán said that he (Trump) will end the war quick. Orbán at home needs to show how he has foreign allies (opposition parrots sometimes that he is isolated), and in recent years Orbán got hyped up in US' Republican/conservative circles by Tucker Carlson, so it's good for Trump to mention him.

When looking at Hungary's foreign politics, people (both at home and foreign) tend to have a blind spot on the impact and influence of Israel. For example Hungary basically supports Turkey and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Kharabakh question, and they write it off as part of Turanism. Except strengthening these Turkish ties are only possible because Israel's allies in the region is Turkey and Azerbaijan. Both mean a counterweight against Iran, plus Israel has a beef with Armenia - part of it that Israel helps Turkey "covering up" Armenian genocide, partially because Israel never recognizes other people's genocides for they "cheapen" the holocaust.
They only recognized the one against the Uyghurs, after US pressured them to do so. It hurts the Chinese somewhat.
