The plan to flow additional Iron Dome support to Israel was confirmed by a defense official who asked not to be identified discussing a pending announcement. The Department of Defense is currently engaged in planning to support the provision of the two US Army batteries to Israel, the official said.

Israel's Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu said on Sunday that dropping a nuclear weapon on the Gaza Strip is "an option."

Speaking in a radio interview, the far-right minister maintained that "there are no non-combatants in Gaza," adding that providing humanitarian aid to the Strip would constitute "a failure."
Eliyahu was then asked if – since there are no non-combatants in his view – a nuclear attack on the Gaza Strip is an option. "That's one way," he responded.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by saying that Eliyahu's comments are "divorced from reality" and that Israel and the IDF are acting in accordance with international law in order to avoid harm to non-combatants.
Later on Sunday morning, Netanyahu's office announced that Eliyahu had been suspended from government meetings until further notice.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid, for his part, called for the minister's removal. "The presence of radicals in the government endangers us and the goals of the war - defeating Hamas and returning all the hostages," Lapid wrote on X, adding that Netanyahu "must fire [Eliyahu] this morning."
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, the leader of the Otzma Yehudit party that Eliyahu belongs to, said he spoke to the minister who in turn clarified that he was speaking "metaphorically."
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also took to X, calling Eliyahu's statements "baseless," adding that it's "good that these aren't the people in charge of Israel's security."
Gallant's predecessor, Minister Benny Gantz, said Eliyahu's statement damages Israel and "adds pain to the families of the hostages."
MK Mansour Abbas, the leader of the United Arab List party, also reacted to Eliyahu, saying that "in the bottom of my heart, I believe that there will be peace between the two nations."

CIA Director Bill Burns arrived in Israel on Sunday and met with his counterpart, Mossad chief David Barnea.
Burns, who is visiting as part of a tour that includes several Middle Eastern nations such as Egypt, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, is scheduled to meet on Monday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is also likely to convene with the war Cabinet.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid an unannounced visit to Iraq on Sunday, as he tours the Middle East attempting to tamp down tensions amid the Israel-Hamas war. King David Hotel Bombing
The King David Hotel bombing was an attack carried out by the militant right-wing Zionist underground organisation, the Irgun, on the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on 22 July 1946.
Irgunists, disguised as Arabs, planted a bomb in the basement of the main building of the hotel, under the wing which housed the Mandate Secretariat and part of the British military headquarters. The ensuing explosion caused the collapse of the western half of the southern wing of the hotel.
As a result of this, 91 people are killed, most of them civilians: 41 Arabs; 28 British; 17 Jews; and 5 others. Around 46 people are injured.

Motivation for the bombing
The King David Hotel was the site for the British Military Command in Palestine. It also served as the headquarters of the British Criminal Investigation Division. The Irgun aimed at destroying the southern wing of the hotel, which housed the Mandate's intelligence records about Irgun, the Hagana, Lehi, and other Jewish paramilitary groups.
The larger goal was to drive the British out of Palestine, and to pit the British against the Palestinian Arabs if Arabs are successfully framed for the bombing. The British soon realize governing Palestine is too much trouble, leaving 2 years later, and the state of Israel is born in 1948.

Future Israeli Prime Minister, Menachem Begin, then leader of the Irgun
On July 1, 1946, Moshe Sneh, chief of the Haganah General Headquarters, sent a letter to the then leader of the Irgun, Menachem Begin, which instructed him to "carry out the operation at the "chick", code for the King David Hotel."
When he was asked by prominent journalist, Russell Warren Howe, if he considered himself the father of terrorism in the Middle East, Menachem Begin proudly replied, “No, in the entire whole world.”

The feds signed advance purchase agreements with seven vaccine manufacturers before their jabs received approval from Health Canada. They have refused to disclose the amounts paid for the COVID jabs.

Taxpayers lost a whopping $150 million to a failed COVID-19 jab manufacturer, confirmed the federal government.

Health Canada spokesperson Chris Aoun told the National Post Friday the government signed an "unfulfilled contract" with Québec-based Medicago at the onset of the COVID pandemic.

The feds sent the company a non-refundable advance payment of $150 million to reserve 76 million doses for consumption.

Medicago also received $173 million to fund COVID jab research and development, including expansion efforts at its manufacturing facility in Québec City.

"To secure early access to safe and effective vaccines for everyone eligible to be vaccinated in the county, the Government of Canada set up advance purchase agreements with several manufacturers," said Aoun, one of seven the government signed with vaccine manufacturers.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels shoot down American drone, confirms US official

A US drone was shot down by Yemen’s Houthi rebels today, according to the Iran-backed group’s military arm and a senior US military official.
The Houthis said it was an MQ-9 Reaper drone that was in Yemeni air space and was shot down by air defenses. The senior US military official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details not yet made public, says the military is still analyzing the episode, including whether the drone was in international airspace or over Yemen.
The Houthis claim to have fired at least four batches of drones and missiles toward southern Israel since Oct. 7. The group controls the capital and much of northern and western Yemen where the majority of the county’s population lives.
