Man arrested outside of Trump’s Southern California rally with multiple guns, fake press passes

A man was arrested outside of a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump in Southern California, and multiple guns were illegally in his possession, according to authorities.

The arrest took place at a checkpoint at the intersection of Avenue 52 and Celebration Drive in Coachella at 4:59 p.m. on Saturday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said. The rally was scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

The driver of a black SUV, who was later identified as 49-year-old Vem Miller of Las Vegas, was found to be in illegal possession of a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine.

The release of this seems sketchy - timed to get attention. Anyone who has a platform now is sus, in my view - because if the bad guys don't want someone to have a voice they make sure in many ways that person has no access.
This incident may be true but it's the bad guys releasing it.

A foreign exchange student from Kazakhstan has shared allegations of an improper grooming relationship involving Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

An hour long interview conducted by Zak Paine, host of the podcast Red Pill 78, aired on its website October 5th. The episode title “Grooming Allegations Against Tim Walz By Former Student” is making the rounds on social media, especially in the comments sections of popular videos.
The interview begins with Paine setting up the format by explaining that the young man’s name will be changed, as will his voice, via a modulation device to protect his identity. The pseudonymous “Jack” is still unable to talk about the matter without these protections out of fear for his family and adverse reactions from people in Kazakhstan. However, he apparently felt compelled to share his experience given the current rise of Walz to potentially the office of Vice President of the United States.

His arrest on gun charges sparked speculation, following two assassination attempts on Trump since July. But he was quickly released on $5,000 bail and so far, no federal charges have been filed.

In the first portion of day 4 of Supreme Court nominee Judge Senate Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee Senate, Democrats urged Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) not to move forward with Judge Barrett’s confirmation until after the November 3 election. Chair Graham announced that Republicans would be moving forward, and the committee would on her nomination on October 22, 2020.
After a break, the committee heard testimony from two American Bar Association officials concerning their investigation of the nominee in which they rated her “well qualified.” Following their testimony, witnesses for and against her nomination also testified.

A Navy aircraft has crashed east of Mount Rainier

MOUNT RAINIER, Wash. — Reports are coming in about a Navy aircraft that has crashed east of Mount Rainier.

Around 3:23 p.m., a U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler aircraft from Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 130 crashed east of Mount Rainier during a routine training flight the Navy reported.

According to a press release, multiple search and rescue assets, including a U.S. Navy MH-60S helicopter, launched from NAS Whidbey Island to locate the crew and examine the crash site.

As of 7 p.m. on Oct. 15, the status of the two crew members remains unknown.

The “Zappers” of VAQ-130 are based at NAS Whidbey Island, and recently completed a combat deployment on USS Dwight D. Eisenhower as the only E/A-18G Growler squadron with Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3, Navy wrote.

The bull run on lithium stocks seems to have run its course

Last week, lithium stocks exploded higher after British mining giant Rio Tinto Group (NYSE: RIO) announced it was buying Arcadium Lithium (NYSE: ALTM) for $6.7 billion, a move that seemed to signal that the cyclical lithium market has hit bottom and is ready to bounce back. Shares of lithium companies entirely unrelated to that specific transaction also surged, with Piedmont Lithium (NASDAQ: PLL) in particular gaining 21.5% on the week, and Standard Lithium (NYSEMKT: SLI) shooting up a staggering 48.5%.
Larger Sociedad Química y Minera (NYSE: SQM), also known as SQM, scored a more modest 1.2% gain.
On Monday, all these numbers rolled in reverse. As of the close of trading, Standard Lithium stock was down 6.8%, Piedmont had dropped by 7.7%, and SQM was down by 5.1%. The question is: Why?

Why lithium stocks are tanking
You can probably blame investment bank JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) for the turnaround. On Friday, it pulled its overweight rating on SQM and downgraded the shares to neutral, citing a too-far, too-fast rise in the share price. (This late-breaking downgrade was one reason why SQM stock didn't rise as much as the others last week. It had been up by more before the downgrade).
Worse news for lithium investors, JPMorgan issued a bearish forecast for lithium prices worldwide -- and for the next three years.
Lithium that cost more than $85,000 per ton less than two years ago averages closer to $10,600 per ton today, according to data from TradingEconomics.com.

I am a US Army retiree who retired off active duty in 2020. I live on Whidbey Island in Washington and regularly access Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI). I am a civilian. I am not in the reserves. I am not a Department of Defense employee. I do not work on NASWI.
On 10 October 2024 at 6:15pm I attempted to access the NASWI for shopping purposes. I had a flag pole mounted on the back of my jeep flying two Trump flags. The gate I tried to enter through was manned by two Navy military police officers. I handed over my military retiree ID and it was scanned. The gate sentry saw that I was a retiree and not on active duty.
I was immediately given two choices: Take the flags off my jeep or leave the base immediately. When I asked why, the response didn't make sense. I refused to take the flags off and I refused to leave.
I didn't believe I was being told correct information. I asked for a supervisor, to be shown in writing why I was being told to leave and for a written report documenting my denial of entry.
What followed was a 45 minute detainment where eight federal law enforcement officers responded to and engaged a civilian flying two Trump flags on his jeep. Five law enforcement officers were Navy sailors and three were civilian federal police officers. All of these federal law enforcement officers acted under color of law by giving me illegal orders they didn't have the authority to give. There was no authority to demand of me to take the flags down. There was no authority to demand I immediately leave the base since I had done nothing wrong.
When I asked for a supervisor, an explanation that made sense and a written report documenting the situation, I was retaliated and reprised against by way of illegal detainment. My IDs were confiscated and I was run through multiple criminal databases even though, through my military ID, everyone knew who I was.

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - Military aerial search crews have located the wreckage of a Navy aircraft that crashed east of Mount Rainier on Tuesday, but have not yet found the two missing crew members.
The U.S. Navy confirmed they found the wreckage of an EA-18G Growler around 12:30 p.m. The jet crashed during a routine training flight on Monday at 3:23 p.m. Officials say the status of the two crew members "is unknown" and search efforts are still underway.
A helicopter from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island is actively searching for two crew members, and an emergency operations center has been established on the island. The Navy is preparing to send military search crews to search the remote area, and note that it is inaccessible by motor vehicles.
