If crude gets to 150 or higher the entire Western economy will collapse. Diesel will become too expensive for trucks to continue shipping food and goods to warehouses and retail stores. Trucking companies will file bankruptcy. Massive shortages will begin to appear. Price of fuel will be too expensive to commute to make a living for most of America anymore. Not to mention the ripple effect on price inflation, which will turn to hyperinflation and the END of first world civilization as we know it.

PS: I think it's a 90% probability most of us here will be dead within the next 10 years. Unless our government grows a brain stem and stops the war with Iran but I doubt it, they always double and triple down on STUPID.

So many young people today regret taking on massive federal student loan debts to get worthless college degrees while people in the trade can take on mortgage payments after a couple years of working and saving. I knew an old neighbor who was able to retire by the age of 50 just because of the money he saved up doing trade jobs since 1966. Before he retired he paid off all his mortgage debt and bought an RV to go on yearly road trips with his family, his wife not having to work. Working as an Auto Tech and wondering what laptop is best reccomended for processing pdf diagrams, everytime I use them outside of a browser things like zomming or fast scrolling causes a stutter, I need one that can react and process pdfs swiftly.

And guess what? I own them. I have full admin control over my operating system. I have awesome software for free, media rippers and converters, p2p networking, Tor and much more. I have a multiple backups of everything I want and need too. You know what's ironic about my "old shitty refurb laptops"...? Older laptops are overall better for basic common use, unless you are into intensive gaming or running local LLMs. Those older laptops even have CD/DVD writers and multiple USB ports making them great for media collectors and enthusiasts. If you are into local LLMs or gaming then you will need something much more expensive, technologically advanced. For an average Linux or Windows 7 user a refurbished laptop works just fine with almost any other task.

hardware: even 20 year old laptops have enough horsepower to display pdf fast
software: try Okular, it's foss. in it you can set how much memory to give it. i set mine to max level (greedy) so long documents with pictures are no problem.

Have a rain water collection system, if it is prohibited by bureaucratic scumbags you might need to conceal it from people though. There are also atmospheric water generators too but they require routine filter replacement every year of use.

The reason I liked canned foods btw, is they are great for long term storage plus rodents and bugs cannot get into canned foods. They're also very easy to stack and rotate. Building a surplus of canned food is a great way to stock up a pantry, some canned foods last up to 10 years. Just this year I opened up some canned butter from the year 2013 and it was still good.
